Clinical Supervision for Texas LMSWs
Healing happens in relationship. So does professional growth.
Clinical supervision is more than a requirement toward independent licensure. It is an opportunity to deepen your clinical knowledge, strengthen your professional identity, cultivate critical consciousness, and develop an ethical and sustainable approach to social work practice.
At Healing in Communion, I offer individualized, structured, and collaborative clinical supervision for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) in Texas who are pursuing clinical licensure.
My approach is grounded in the belief that we do not learn, practice, or grow in isolation. The supervisory relationship is a shared learning space where curiosity, reflection, accountability, and meaningful dialogue support professional development.
Examining power, privilege, positionality, systemic oppression, and how these dynamics shape therapeutic relationships, clinical decision-making, and institutional practices.
❋ Anti-oppressive and critically reflective practice❋ Relational and trauma-informed supervisionPrioritizing trust, transparency, collaboration, accountability, psychological safety, and an awareness of how trauma can influence both client care and professional development.
❋ Dialectical and integrative clinical thinkingBuilding the capacity to hold multiple perspectives, navigate uncertainty, challenge rigid or binary thinking, and integrate evidence-based approaches with contextual understanding.
❋ Culturally responsive and queer-affirming practiceAffirming LGBTQIA+ identities, respecting intersecting cultural experiences, and recognizing how identity, community, family, and structural conditions inform mental health and access to care.
Supporting boundaries, self-awareness, reflective practice, professional sustainability, and the integration of personal values with clinical responsibilities.
❋ Holistic and sustainable professional developmentUsing clear learning objectives, clinical case consultation, intentional feedback, reflective exercises, and ongoing evaluation while adapting the curriculum to each supervisee's developmental needs.
❋ Structured and individualized learningWhat You Can Expect
Supervision is collaborative, but it is also intentional and structured.
Together, we will establish an individualized supervision plan with clear learning objectives and opportunities for ongoing feedback and evaluation.
Our work may include clinical case consultation, assessment and case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, clinical interventions, cultural responsiveness, professional identity development, and reflective practice.
I incorporate discussion, case-based learning, reflective exercises, and relevant educational resources to support your development.
My goal is not to teach you to practice exactly as I do, but to support you in developing your own thoughtful, accountable, culturally responsive, and clinically grounded approach to social work.
