Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Healing in Communion is currently a private pay practice.

We plan to begin accepting insurance through Alma in the coming months. Please check back for updates as additional insurance plans become available.

Why do you charge these rates?

Therapy is an investment in your mental health and well-being.

Your fee supports far more than the 50 minutes we spend together. It also includes:

  • treatment planning

  • reviewing your history

  • coordinating care when appropriate

  • maintaining secure health records

  • continuing education and specialized trauma training

  • consultation and clinical supervision

Do you offer a Good Faith Estimate?
Yes.

Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of services before treatment begins.

You will receive this estimate prior to or during your intake appointment.

If you receive a bill that is substantially higher than your estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges under federal law.

Additional information is available through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
What happens if I need my records?

Clients may request copies of their records in accordance with Texas law.

A fee of $50 is charged for medical records requests to cover the administrative time required to prepare and securely provide records.
